Wakefield Parent University

Please join the Wakefield Public Schools, the Wakefield Parent Partnership, and Wake-Up (Wakefield Unified Prevention Coalition) for the first annual Wakefield Parent University on Saturday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Wakefield High School, 60 Farm Street. Wakefield Parent University is for parents and caregivers of students in pre-school through high school. The keynote speaker Rick Irving, will present on, "How to Raise Competent, Confident Children in a Culture of Pressure." Attendees will have the option of participating in two workshops on topics including: 
  • How to Raise & Support Your Reader 
  • Helping with Homework 
  • Social Media/Cyber Safety 
  • Common Core Standards K-5, 6-12 
  • College Financial Planning 
  • Substance Abuse Prevention 
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
  • Technology Devices & Learning 
  • Social-Emotional Wellness 
Free childcare will be provided by Wakefield Academy - preregistration is required by March 10th.  There will also be door prizes, free refreshments, & community resource tables.
